There are not enough adjectives to describe how I am feeling right now.
Undeserving, excited, humbled, and basically FREAKING OUT!

Can you BELIEVE it?!
I am blessed beyond measure.

Miss Jaya wrote this today at recess all by herself! SOOOO sweet!

Is it Washington or Lincoln?! It's both!! We just finished our study of both presidents. The cubs learned a lot about the lives of these great men and time lined the events. Mrs. Embro did a great job with these lessons and the kids loved it!

I love my cubs!

I was able to "see" my cubs today while I was in Austin attending the TCEA Conference. We used FaceTime via our iPads and talked about what we were up to. I told them about meeting Moby from BrainPop, Jr and I showed them my Moby backpack. They told me that they were trying to be good for Mrs. Embro and that they missed me. Awww, they sure know how to make this momma cub's heart melt. I LoVe my cubs and cannot wait to see them on Monday!

The cubs LOVE Moby!

As part of our unit on the sun, shadows for Groundhog Day, and
silhouettes for President's Day, we made our own class silhouettes. Be sure to come and visit our classroom on Open House night to "Guess Who!"

Classroom Notes
On February 14th, we will have a Valentines Party. We will have a valentine exchange. Please bring a valentine from your child to give to each student in the class. We currently have 20 students. A white lunch sack will be coming home on Monday for them to get creative and decorate to use for the valentine exchange.)Please address valentines to “my friend”.  This makes it easier for the students to pass them out.

I will be attending the TCEA (Texas Computer Educator’s Association) Conference next week Wednesday-Friday in Austin. Mrs. Embro will also begin her 2 week teach so the cubs will be learning and staying on task while I am gone.  They are in excellent hands!

What a great (and exhausting!) day we had today! The Kinder Krew got the kids all worked up this morning when we all showed up dressed like we were 100 years old! It was so much fun for everyone! We started the day off with puzzle races. Our race winner was Table 1! We had 4 tables x 25 piece puzzles = 100 puzzle pieces. I then brought out the 100 piece puzzles per table...that didn't go so well! After that we went to see the 100ft long sub sandwich we ate for lunch and came back to write about what we will be when we are 100 years old like Mrs. Kilgore. Our 100 piece trail mix snack was a hit too! We counted out 10 pieces of 10 different snacks. Thanks to all of the parents who helped make today special by sending projects, dressing your child up or by sending snack. Your involvement makes our class RoCk! Tomorrow, 101 Dalmatians for the 101st day!!!

75% of the cubs predicted that Phil would see his shadow...and they were right! I have a class of weather reporters on my hands!
