Please make sure your child is
bringing only what they need to school. We are having problems with toys, makeup
and jewelry in the classroom. Starting Monday, I am going to take up these
items and ask that you come and get them. I have been giving them back at the
end of the day and some items keep returning. If your child wears jewelry to
school, please speak to them about not removing and playing with the item. If
it is played with, I will have to take it up. Thanks for your help in advance!
On February 14th, we will have a Valentines Party. Blake’s mom, Stefanie Holding, will be
contacting parents about providing items to help with the party. We will also have a valentine
exchange. Please bring a valentine from your child to give to each student in
the class. We currently have 20 students. A white lunch sack will be coming home
for them to get creative and decorate to use for the valentine exchange.)Please
address valentines to
“my friend”.
This makes it easier for the students to pass
them out.

Jan. 24 (new date!) – Planetarium Field Trip – Please send $3 with your child for admission by Tuesday, Jan 17th.
Jan 31 – Math & Science night at CES. Time TBD.
Feb 2 – 100th Day of School – Start thinking of something your child can collect 100 of!
Is the moon made of Bleu Cheese? Not today in our classroom! Today, our moons were made out of Double Stuff Oreos! We learned the 4 phases of the moon and made the phases out of the cookies! What a delicious experiment!

If you have not turned in your $3 for the Planetarium Field Trip, please do so by Tuesday. Thanks!
Our student teacher, Mrs. Embro, will return to us this Tuesday and will be with us every day until Spring Break. She will be doing a lot of the teaching activities and planning in the next few weeks. I will be planning with her and be helping her with her lessons and I have a lot of faith in her teaching abilities! She already loves your children SO much and they love her. I just wanted to make you aware of this change in routine.

While playing with the iPads and iTunes this weekend, I found a Blogger app! I am testing to see if it works and what it looks like. If it is satisfactory, you might be seeing more blog posts from me!

Classroom Notes
The Six Flags Hours Reading Club begins this week. I will keep track of the minutes we read in the classroom and your child will receive a FREE ticket to Six Flags the end of May.
Sounds like a DEAL to me!
Report Cards go home today! Since there were only 5 weeks in the last grading period AND with the craziness of Christmas, I am not including a skills report sheet.
Did anyone notice your child being extra grumpy or want to go to bed early this week?! This is very common when we lose our rest time. They will adjust in a few weeks but, until then, you might want to send them to bed 30 minutes early.
