Report Cards come home today. I am so proud of my Cubs!

Cap and Gown pictures are next Friday. The gowns are white so a white collared shirt looks best. Girls, please wear your hair down. The caps don’t look or fit right with ponytails or bows. I will be there to make sure they look their best! Picture packets will be sent home in a week or so for you to pick from.

Last week during our weather review unit, we studied rainbows! I just love rainbows! So full of color and they hold a special promise...

The Cubs learned "The Rainbow Rules" for catching a rainbow and the order of the colors. Ask your Cub how to "catch" a rainbow!

We also made special rainbows to hang in our classroom. Why are they special? Our children brainstormed and chose 6 positive traits that described them. They truly are a gift!

I was pleasantly surprised this afternoon when I stopped by the classroom. Casey needed new milkweed and Miss M was dYiNg to see our caterpillar. Well, she saw TWO caterpillars! Casey has a sibling. We may have to put the new caterpillar up for adoption...I hear that Mrs. Oats is looking! :)

This is our newest class pet, Casey the Caterpillar. Michaela came up with this awesome name! We decided that it fit perfectly since we don't know if Casey is a boy or a girl. We will continue to feed it milkweed and see what happens. Stay tuned!

As soon as the Cubs walked in the door this morning, I was bombarded with questions, statements and concerns over the violent storms that shook Commerce yesterday. Since I could tell that they were needing to talk about their experiences, we had a community oval time where they got to share anything they wanted to tell me about the storm. We reviewed the good listener skills that we learned at the beginning of the year and we passed our Kelso frog around the oval as we shared. Since writing can be therapeutic, we incorporated our experiences into our journal time. This friend chose not to speak about about their experience but I hope writing helped his heart.
