short week! Students dismiss at Noon on Thursday and we are off on Friday,
April 6th and Monday, April 9th for unused bad weather makeup

Time flies when you're having FuN!
Next Thursday, April 5th is an early release day in advance of the 4 day Easter weekend. I didn't realize that the students got out early on this day! I am not sure of the exact time but I will be sure and include it in this week's Weekly Information post.
We will be having a penny war competition between grade levels beginning on Monday. The money raised will be donated to Relay for Life on Friday, April 13th. The winning grade level will be rewarded! Options are still being discussed, but it could be something like a movie or extra recess at the Eddie Moore Park. Students will be learning about cancer and cancer prevention in PE as well.
Please send pennies meant for this competition in a baggie clearly labeled for donation. In years past, I have had students accidentally donate lunch or ice cream money!

You will notice that there is a 3
week Progress Report in your child’s folder today. This is the first time that
Kindergarten has sent home progress reports this year. Please just review the
information and keep. There is no need to sign or return it.

When I first came up with the idea for students to bring in 1 living and 1 non living thing for our Science unit this week, I didn't really know what to expect. I have to say that we received a lot of great examples!
For living we had plants, tree bark, an apple and even a poor moth that WAS living when he was put in the bag that morning. YIKES! :)
For non living, we had Legos, rocks, crayons and even a bag of peppermints that were shared with the class.
I cannot wait for our plant unit next week!
