- For our Community Helpers field trip on Thursday, please send a sack lunch. (No lunch boxes please. I will even send home a sack on Wednesday afternoon.) We plan to stop at the park for lunch before returning back to school. If your child needs a sack lunch from the cafeteria, please let me know by Wednesday.
- On Halloween, we will visit the Kadee Farms Pumpkin Patch in Greenville. I will need to collect $4 per child for the trip. I just wanted to announce this in advance so that everyone can budget the money.

*Posted this on Tuesday but just noticed that it didn't actually "post"*
When we discussed the day's schedule during calendar time, the highlight was when I put the 'iPads' schedule card into the pocket chart! They love our class iGuys, but they know that using the CES iPad cart means they get free reign of all the apps!

Classroom Notes
- Kindergarten will not be sending home progress reports this week. We will send home report cards at the end of the first 6 weeks grading period.
- If you pick your child up from school in the car pickup line, please make sure that you have a car seat or booster seat AND that they are buckled up before you pull away. There will be a Commerce PD officer looking for this and giving tickets for noncompliance.
- You will notice a white card in the clear protective pouch of your child's folder. This is their login information for the Education City website. Go to www.educationcity.com to login. Commerce ISD purchased this program for use in our computer lab and also purchased home access for our students. Please take advantage of this great enrichment opportunity!

Oct. 4 - Community Helpers Field Trip
The weather is beautiful and friendship blooms on the playground at CES! We are all loving the cooler temperatures and sunny days!
Today was picture day at CES. Historically, you can pretty much chalk the day up to a wasted day because the kids go BoNkErS! This was NOT the case today with my Cubs. We had a GREAT day!
Look, they are so CALM! Who ARE these kids and where did my class go?! Hehe!
I am out of the classroom today (but not out of CES) for a workshop and Mrs. Hammons is teaching the Cubs. They sent me this picture to tell me "Hi!"
Aren't they cute?!
I hope to see everyone at the Back to School Bash on Tuesday night at CHS! We will have hot dogs at 6:00 and breakout sessions start at 7:00. I will be sharing some of my favorite educational iPad apps and will have our class iGuys there to play them! Make plans to be there!
Don't forget to let me know how many people are attending! You can either return the sheet that I sent home on Friday or email me the number. See you on Tuesday!

Classroom Notes
- Snack is always a difficult subject. The kids are hungry and I want to have a snack time but please make sure to check the calendar and mark your date on your personal calendar. Snack was not provided 2 days last week and I didn't have enough "backup snack" built up to cover the snack. For instances such as this, you are more than welcome to keep an individual snack in your child's backpack just in case snack is forgotten one day in the week.

As the days go by, we are getting better and better with our daily routines, rules and procedures. We are getting our lessons in and remembering our procedures...well, mostly remembering our procedures!
Today, we got our math lesson in, our reading and ELA lesson in and even got a little center time! I have to say it was a success!
This week, part of our math lesson includes getting to learn about the math manipulatives; specifically, how we use them and what the rules for use are. Part of this time is exploration. It is very interesting to see what they come up with!
