Since Commerce ISD decided to have a district wide Back to School Night this year, I updated the blog with a page containing general classroom information. You can get to it by clicking 2012-2013 Class Information on the left OR by just clicking HERE!

It's the 2nd day of Kindergarten and you are busy teaching procedures like how to walk in the hallway and how to sit in the cafeteria. What is the next logical procedure to learn? Well, in my class, it's how to work the iPads! We learned how to handle the iPads and basic maneuvering of the device. These digital natives had it down in no time and were masters in just 30 minutes. I am excited to see what we are going to do with them this year!

It seems that every year I either have a student who shares my birthday or has the day after! Kimberly, you have an AwEsOmE birthday girlfriend! Ü

I am still giddy from the excitement of Meet the Teacher last night! 16 of my 21 Cubs came to meet me and I can already tell that it is going to be a GrEaT year! I have updated the slideshow at the top of the blog with the pictures from last night. If you click on the rainbow circle at the bottom right corner of the slideshow, it will send you to the Picasa Web Albums site where you can download pictures and order prints.

The first day of Kindergarten will be here before we know it! Have a great weekend, get plenty of rest and I will see you bright and early on Monday morning! :)

The parent letters and student postcards were mailed on Monday so my Commerce friends know that I am their teacher! Eeek! I am so excited to meet them on Thursday!

It makes you feel good when you have a mother of a new student come up to you in Wal-Mart and hugs you (and you have just met her) because she is so excited for you to be her son's teacher. Her excitement was very contagious and my stress from the day's teacher staff development faded.

What about my Cubs from years passed? Who is your teacher this year?! Comment here for Facebook me!

My hope and prayer is to be a "Ms. Miner" to the 21 students who I will meet this Thursday. Please take a minute to read the blog post below.

(thanks to my Sturch for sharing it!)

I am anxiously awaiting Monday afternoon when I get my class roster! Until then, I am busy this morning stuffing envelopes and cutting out postcards for my new Cubs and their parents. Can't wait to mail them out!

One of my favorite Back to School activities is putting up the outside bulletin board! I love themes and I love to create so this sure beats cleaning up the mess I created with my summer organizing. Our CES theme is "My Favorite Book" so this let's each teacher be as creative as they want. Since Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is one of my favorite first week books, I went with it! I wonder, who IS in Mrs Kilgore's room?!

Also, I have to show off the latest addition to my storybook character collection! Makes me think of my Sturch! :*(

I am so proud of Mrs. Embro! She is now a 5th grade teacher at A.C. Williams Elementary. She has been hard at work in her classroom! I got to snoop a little bit yesterday when I was helping set up for the Hunt County Tech Camp. She is going to be a great addition to Commerce ISD!

I have a few new friends joining me in room 124 this year! Say hello to the iGuys!

As if the iPads weren't fantastic enough; now we have cool, orange, shock proof iGuys to protect them. I am so excited to have them join us this year!

Speaking of "US", I wonder who is on my roster to be a new Cub this year?! I can't wait to find out! District wide Registration is on the 15th and 16th...I wonder if Mrs. Lay and Mrs. Stegall will have the class lists ready on the 17th? Haha! Just kidding ladies...well kinda...

Commerce ISD has announced our back to school activities! Hope to see you all at C.E.S. Meet the Teacher on Thursday, August 23rd at 5:30! You may not be in Kindergarten anymore, but Mrs. Kilgore still loves to get hugs from her Cubs!

 See you soon!

Yes, I admit it. I am not a neat organizer. I must take everything out and only put it back in if it's worthy. What remains goes bye-bye. See my upside down table of storage containers and baskets? Wow! It's okay, room 124 will be in tip-top shape by August 20. *fingers crossed*

Not really, I just stopped by today to drop off a few things I worked on at home and MY ROOM IS READY! Look at the SHINE on that floor! No, really...look hard because it won't last too long once I start scooting furniture and walking hundreds of miles around that room until it is PeRfEcT!

My kids were with me and they "allowed" me to move my main pieces of furniture to their homes. Ahhh, that's better!

Now, I have find some days in my calendar when I can bring at MOST only one kid with me to work in my room. 20 minutes together in my classroom and I was going BoNkErS! Why is it that I can control 22 Kindergartners in that classroom but my 8 year old and 4 year old work my last nerve? Maybe my own children need to sit in on my first day of rules and procedures! Ü
